Results : Although the major satisfaction level did not differ between the gender and the age of the subjects, self-esteem varied according to gender (t=2.056, ¥ñ<0.5) and age (F=4.938, ¥ñ<0.01), and college life adaptation differed according to gender (t=3.136, ¥ñ<0.01). The general major satisfaction was having a static affect on college life adaptation(¥â=.612, ¥ñ=.000) statically, and the self-assessment(¥â=.466, ¥ñ=.000), leadership and popularity(beta=.191 , ¥ñ<.05), self-respect(¥â=.184, ¥ñ<.05), the in the sub-factor of self-esteem, have a significant effect on college life adaptation. Therefore, the major satisfaction and self-esteem have confirmed that they are important factors in the college life adaptation of optometry and optic science students.
